Lithuania - Polish youth exchange project  (2011 May - November)

12 young people from Lithuania and Poland participated in this 6-day youth exchange. During the project the youths were involved in intercultural dialogue to strengthen mutual understanding and counter the tension existing in media and politics of both the countries. The project addressed not only problems of trans-national communication between Lithuanians and Poles, but also themes related to tolerance, human rights, discrimination.

The youth exchange paid a lot of attention to the promotion of tolerance by analyzing issues of religious, racial, ethnical and sexual discrimination. The most important topics were the struggle against racism and xenophobia, dialogue between different ethnical and religious groups and rights of minorities. By using non-formal educational tools we tried to change the provisions of the youths and combat the stereotypical worldview of people.

The project was financed by the Lithuanian-Polish Youth Exchange Foundation. Project partner - Education and Social Research Center (Poland).
